Meet Our New Board Members for the Year of 2014 - 2015

Frederick Ringham, B.Sc., LL.B.

Fred has enjoyed condominium living for over 25 years and is active on his strata council.

Prior to his retirement from the Executive Group of the federal Public Service in 2011, Fred was Director of the Immigration Division, Western Region, of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada.  During his career, he had the opportunity to work overseas at the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi and in Colombo.

Fred is a volunteer member of the board of directors of the Royal Commonwealth Society, British Columbia Branch, which operates programs to promote an understanding of the challenges facing Commonwealth countries.  He was president of the Society of Special Needs Adoptive Parents, a non-profit agency which provided services to adoptive parents of children with special needs.

Fred has been presented with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for community service and the Public Service Award of Excellence for Exemplary Contribution under Extraordinary Circumstances.


Lisa Frey

Lisa is a lawyer specializing in the area of strata and real estate law at the firm Lesperance Mendes.   Lisa works closely with strata corporations, strata owners and property managers on a variety of strata governance matters, such as implementing sections and/or types, financing of major repairs and special projects, arrears collection, bylaw enforcement and hardship applications.    

Lisa is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Condominium Homeowners’ Association of British Columbia (CHOA), the Professional Association of Managing Agents (PAMA) and the Strata Property Agents of British Columbia (SPABC). She is currently a board member of the Canadian Condominium Institute, Vancouver Chapter. She is also an enthusiastic condominium owner.

Lisa completed her law degree at the University of British Columbia in 2012, after a brief period working for the Rick Hansen Foundation in facilitating cutting edge spinal cord research.  In 2011, she worked as a summer law student with a mid-sized law firm in the Fraser Valley.

Born in the small farming community of Agassiz, BC, Lisa worked for several years in fruit science at the Pacific Agricultural Research Centre.  In 2007, Lisa graduated with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from UBC.  She was valedictorian of her graduating class and was heavily involved in volunteer service to the university.

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, especially with fresh local produce.
